Cat people vs Dog people?

Someone once said that people who keep Cats are people who are more giving, willing to take care other people and easier to show their affections to others.

Dog people are more of lonely people who look for loyal companion.

Agree ? Disagree ?

Cat people vs Dog people?
I have to neutral. I have 2 cats and 3 dogs.
Reply:who knows
Reply:Disagree. There's no way to stereotype people based on their pet preference. Especially the way you depict them as being so divergently different. I have a cat and a dog. I love them both equally as much.
Reply:I agree.
Reply:Well I have both and I am those things you said but I have to disagree because I think people who have cats are more likely to be lonely and people who have dogs will be more caring because I know a few people who have cats and are very lonely and don't really care for others and I know people who have dogs who always care for others and are very friendly.
Reply:well

what if youre both

or what if youve been both at different times?

but arent either anymore?

i used to have a cat

i adored my cat

but then i had a kid

and the cat hated the kid

and so the cat had to go

i said id get another cat

later

but the i started thinking

about the dander

and the fur every godamn where

and the little pee peep aws that roam around in the kitty litter and then track the peepee and the litter everywhere across the carpet

so i thought id become a dog person

i planned to get a dog

i picked out a name for my future phantom dog

i concocted whole scenarios about this invisible dog

i would get a dog as soon as the kids- of course more followed, after the first, three to be exact- got old enough to handle having a dog

and now theyre old enough

i was almost ready to get the dog

then nip tuck and weeds both featured gruesome dog bite episodes in the same night of programming

so i decided

no dog
Reply:i disagree, dare to generalize...

i think if you have a pet, you tend to be more responsible and show concern to other people...

it doesnt matter if thats a dog or a cat...

i prefer both...
Reply:I'll have to disagree with you, I'm a dog lover and I don't believe I am what you described.
Reply:I have both and NUMEROUS !! So I am a selfish, lonely, giving, caring person !

Thanks for clarifying this !!

cat people are like there pets independent. you can just walk out for a week end with a cat if you leave water and food for 2 or 3 days. not with a dog. cats come and love you when the want to. i found the people that have cats are a lot like that. they are also selfish. a cat is low maintain.

now a dog is like a child. a 2 year old that always looking for trouble. so a dog person has to be loving and caring and take there responsible seriously. it is a 24/7 job. yes i think dog people are looking for a loyal companion and unconditional love. that is what dog give. but the owner are the same way. giving caring willing to teach and train and forgive easy. now in my home we have both cats and a dog. so what does that make me
Reply:Disagree. One of the loneliest people I know is a friend that lives alone with his cat. He even invites me and my dog over just so he won't be alone all the time.

Cats actually take less work than a dog and you have to be very giving to be a good dog owner. You can just leave the cat food and water and it's OK for several days. A dog, on the other hand, will pine and cry. Dogs get lonely. My dog requires a lot of attention, love and affection plus a daily walk. Ever see anyone walk a cat?

I know a lot of dog owners and they're a very open, giving, affectionate bunch all-in-all.

On the other hand, I know a couple of cat owners that are like one step away from being serial killers: pleasant but secretive, quiet, reclusive. Anybody know if Jeffrey Dahmer ever had a cat?

Dog people are social and friendly!! Give me a dog person any day...
Reply:Disagree. I disagree because cat people usually live alone like my neighbors. I don't want to stereotype but they are usually single. Dog people usually have kids and are married, so they can enjoy the dog with someone.
Reply:We have both a dog and a cat in our house. I tend to be more of a cat person, my husband, the dog person. He, however, I think, is more willing to give and take care of other people (he's a paramedic.) I just like cats because they're easier to take of than a dog. So, I guess after all that, I'd have to disagree.
Reply:I have a Boxer dog and I'm not a lonely person....
Reply:Makes sense but the main reason I have cats and not dogs is simple.....the litter box !!!
Reply:It's the opposite.
Reply:I think you've got it backwards. Little lonely old ladies always have cats.
Reply:I think you keep the pets you like most. It doesn't reflect on your personality. I know lonely cat and dog owners, and affectionate dog and cat owners.
