Why do people think that America can handle all of the people who want to come here?

Why do some people think that America can handle every single person who wants to come here from other countries. There are probably hundreds of millions of people who would like to come here. But if we let too many people come here it will ruin the country for all of us. I heard a really good analogy about it.

You are the 20th person to get on an elevator that is rated for a maximum capacity of 20 people. Another guy walks up and needs to go to the 45th floor. Do you let him get on? How many more people should you let on if you let him on? How many people can get on before the elevator falls and you all die?

Why do people think that America can handle all of the people who want to come here?
Because they've been disillusioned by the "American Dream". Once they realize it's just a dream, they do whatever they have to (at the expense of tax-payers and hard-working americans), to artificially bring that dream to fruition. Meanwhile their home countries remain the same hell-holes they will always be.

Concerning the "we have enough space" argument, why should citizens from over-populated countries be allowed to expand into "empty ones". Yes we do have enough space, but we have enough space for OUR CHILDREN.
Reply:I agree with you. If they want to come legally, then welcome to America. But illegals are creating a huge problem here. I like your elevator analogy.

Too bad a lot of people just won't get it! The "bleeding hearts" that disagree will be sorry in a very short time when the country is taken over. Then they will be pointing the finger at someone else (always do). They need to stand up now and stop the border jumping. If those "workers" want to come here and work, then come across at a legal checkpoint. I don't understand what is so hard about that.
Reply:Your analogy implies that our country is already full, what gives you that idea? are we running out of resources such as food? land? And are you saying we will all die if mexicans keep coming?

The most ironic part is that most of our basic resources like farm goods and housing are produced by illegal immigrants.
Reply:I understand what you are saying. To many people before the pot is overflowing and we all suffer.
Reply:Because America seems to be able to handle all the people of all the world, especially the people of the countries your American empire-wannabe has invaded, without the approval of the UN, and ergo of the world. So go handle illegal immigrants the way you illegally handle Iraq and Afghanistan. You use the word ILLEGAL too much, when it's the US who's being illegal worldwide; by refusing to endorse the Kyoto Protocol, the Nafta, the International Court of Justice, the UN Security Council Resolutions; by being the world's 1st drug users, and so the main endorsers of drug traffickers worldwide....and a very long et cetera. THINK BEFORE SAYING ANYTHING! LEGAL!!! HOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!!!
Reply:I don't know about 100's of million, but this group isn't going to hurt us.
Reply:this immgrant backlash is only from the middle working class.immigrants always mean cheap labour which means a better economy for the country.ur government or president dont care about you losing jobs to immigrants..but at the same time you must realise that america was sold to the world as the land of oppertunity and that these people just want the same as you-the best for their families.
Reply:So we're all going to die if we let immigrants in?

Re your comment about "paying no taxes"--let's assume someone here illegally works under a false Social Security number. Every paycheck, they are putting money into Social Security (and of course won't see a dime of it), which is currently supporting our seniors. Every time this person buys anything in the US, they pay sales tax.
Reply:this country is large enough to absorb people don't belive the hype. Look at our numbers most of the people are in the N.E., the South and California in between we have major cities like Mnpls, chicago, Detriot and a few others but other than that some states don't even have a million people in it. what is the problem is that people tend to live in cities with high poulations. If you were to drop a million people in New York at one time yes there would be a strain on resources, but what is the likehood that that would happen. Most people who want to come here can't there so poor they can't afford it and the ones who try sneak in. As for the others who come over with legitimate jobs and go to school, most end up staying and like the ones who sneak in isn't contributing to the decline of this country.
Reply:No. The lifeboat is full.
Reply:That's a great question and the answer lies in how our nations was formed. We are a nation of immigrants. In fact, other than indiginous people of Africa, all nations are constituted of immigrant stock, although some go much further back than others.

The inscription on the Statue of Liberty is a famous re-statement of our previous stand on immigrants and how they can help build our nation. It speaks to how eager the US is to provide comfort and opportunity to those who can not find it in the country they come here from, so the immigrant tradition in the US is pretty well ingrained.
Reply:We can't handle all of these people.

Illegals need to be deported.
Reply:You're the biggest greediest nation in the world.

If you tripled your population, then there is a slight chance that having all those extra mouths to feed might make a dent in your obesity problem.
Reply:every day usa gain 8000 persons normally http://www.timeandate.com
Reply:exaggerate much? besides every building with an elevator has a service elevator, if he needs it he can always use that one.
