Why are people horrible on yahoo??? please share your views!!!?

i ask questions on yahoo and all people can do is criticise my spelling when the only reason i do it, is to save time and type quicker! i asked a question about what the american states are and all people were putting were you must know what they are to compare the answers to, well i don't i just thought people would tell the truth and not lie because what is the point of lying just for 10 points??? and because i put i live in england but it would be useful to know the american states, a woman from america put why do you need to know them and if you want to go anywhere go to school to learn how to spell and as i said the only reason i do it, is to type quicker!!! i thought the reason for yahoo answers was to help people with their problems not to critise people about silly things like spelling or questioning people about why they need to know what they're asking! and by what questions they've asked in the past you can tell some people are adults but i'm only a 14 year old kid!!!

I'm Not sure why some people are like that to be honest with you it's tough to tell why

Yea that is the point of this is to help people with there questions but there's going to be someone like that in every crowd

Don't worry about it

Unless they say how old they are or it's on there profile page there really is no way to tell to be honest with you . I mean you can venture a guess but you may not be right if you know what i mean

Don't worry about the ignorant people there's people like that everywhere

I am 32 years old and even i face that

Just keep bieng you don't let anyone else change that
Reply:Its because people feel safe behind their computers and they lack common decency.
Reply:Poor grammar is a touchstone for a lot of people on Y/A. Especially since there is a Spell check feature. Your time savings is lost in translation time, and your questions are not taken seriously.
Reply:Google US states and I am sure you can find a list. Is your time so valuable that you cannot spell check. Many people are nasty because other people are in too much of a hurry to find something for themselves.
Reply:honestly i think people are cruel on here especially because well you'll never know who they are. they would be too much of a coward to ever say such things to your face, but on here, you'll never know what they look like, who they are, where they live, etc. unless they want you to. so just ignore the meanies, and try to be respectful yourself. you can only hope someday others will do the same!
Reply:I didn't read all of your question because it's so long. But why would you not check spelling in order to get your question posted faster? Why would speed matter or how fast you get it done matter? I don't criticize spelling, but I don't like it when something is a total mess spelling-wise. It's hard to read. I don't know what truth has to do with American states. But that's IS an odd question. There are 52 states.... I'm sure not going to sit here to type each and every one. If anyone were to type "US States" into Google, I bet the very first site shown would be a list of all the states.

I think everyone should be conscientious about their spelling and grammar, but I do think it's rude to point out peoples' mistakes. But getting it done fast isn't a good reason for sloppy spelling. Sorry. Your spelling will improve if you work at it, and if you care, but doing it on purpose for purposes of speed.... doesn't make sense.

(if you were REALLY trying for this question... you can use the spell check or look it up if you're not sure.)
