It's so stupid! Every country has done something in their past that their not proud of. Many people need to realize what happened in the past was our ancestors! As that is the case with all countries. America has made some stupid mistakes but so has other countries. Im so sick of the stereotype that all of America is fat,uneducated, and are a bunch of fools. Let me tell you this because I live in America... Their is alot of smart,beautiful, and nice people. People need to understand that every country has it's bad people and it's good people. I don't hate any country. I know that their is good honest people in every country. Their is beautiful people in every country. Their is good hearted people in every country. Why do so many people hate America?
I don't know about anyone else, but personally, as a natural-born (NOT my choice!) US citizen, I'll tell you why I HATE America!
I HATE that America was stolen from the Native Americans who we brutally slaughtered almost to the point of extinction, and that this country was built on the backs of blacks who we kidnapped from Africa, forever severing them from their families, their roots and their heritage, bringing them to this country in chains just to sell them, and exploit them for the rest of their lives.

I hate America for the near-extermination and subsequent oppression of its indigenous Native American population.
I hate America for its role in the African slave trade, for unfairly imprisoning thousands of innocent Japanese-Americans in internment camps during World War II, and for dropping atomic bombs of innocent civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki .
I hate America's control of institutions like the United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and World Trade Organization.
I hate America for propping up brutal dictators like Suharto, Pinochet, Duvalier, Hussein, Marcos, and the Shah of Iran.
I hate America for its unconditional support for Israel. I hate its bogus two-party system, its one-size-fits-all culture, and its income gap.
I hate that we are taxed for EVERYTHING under the sun from birth to death AND BEYOND, and instead of the money going for schools, roads, police and other vital services, as it was originally intended for, that instead it goes to line the wallets and pockets of money-grubbing politicians and their government agencies like the IRS, ATF, FBI, DEA, ICE, and the rest of the alphabet soup in Washington that do nothing but bleed its citizens of their hard-earned money.
I hate that despite being taxed for EVERYTHING under the sun, yet public schools are crowded, underfunded, and in horrible shape, the roads are cracked and full of potholes everywhere, and police, fire and other vital services have had to slash their budgets, because of decreased funding.
I hate that leaving this CESSPOOL excuse of a country is not enough to stop this money-grubbers of America - the only country besides LIBYA to tax its citizens on WORLDWIDE INCOME regardless of residency. I hate that even escaping this HELLHOLE and renouncing citizenship is no guarantee against the GREEDY US government who can still tax former citizens for UP TO TEN YEARS after renunciation if in their arbitrary opinion they think that the renunciation is purely tax-motivated. I hate that America keeps its citizens locked into their country in a virtual financial PRISON!
I HATE America for wasting $40 MILLION dollars of taxpayers hard-earned money to investigate the sex life of a President, while MILLIONS of people are uninsured, and the working poor have to struggle and work 2 or 3 or mor jobs just to make ends meet and yet often have to choose between getting medical care and just putting food on the table.
I HATE America for thinking that they have the right to invade any country that they choose, just because they don't want to live by our standards, when we are not one to talk, and our own society is falling apart.
I HATE America for wasting BILLIONS of dollars and THOUSANDS of innocent lives on a NEEDLESS war in Iraq, when the alleged threat, Saddam Hussein, who we ourselves created, is no longer even alive. I HATE America for wasting BILLIONS of dollars on this SENSELESS war in Iraq when MILLIONS of kids are starving and eating dirt and bugs in Haiti, North Korea, Sudan, and other poverty-stricken countries.
I HATE America for its gas-guzzling SUV driving yuppies with cell phones glued to their ears who have no concept or interest in world affairs and care nothing about anyone outside their immediate lives.
I HATE America for allowing useless vapid tramps like Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie and other wastes of space, to garner all the media attention while important issues like Female Genital Mutilation %26amp; the genocides in Darfur, Rwanda and other places barely get a mention if anything at all.
I could go on for pages but I'll sum up with this: I hate America for being a hypocritical white Christian supremacist homophobic capitalist patriarchy.

Reply:i dont "hate" america .. , i "dislike" the USA. the way you pose this question should help you answer it yourself. "Americans" have a tendency to not give a c*** about anyone other than themselves. I'm not saying that they wont lend an egg to their neighbor, but for the most part, since there is this huge understanding that there is the "american dream" and everyone wants to come here to escape the oppression of their mother nation, then its like tickling the ego of a king.
Just the fact that we call it "america" when there are 2 other countries in NORTH america, and there is a much larger SOUTH america is a prime example of the elitist point of view that "americans" have.
Reply:Hate is a powerful word...an emotion that can cause harm to others. It obliterates good judgement, changes decent people into obnoxious (and sometimes violent) individuals/mobs. It is sad when people, who need to be right all the time, think they are.
America is not "pure and without sin". I know you were just trying to point out that America is as good as it gets (and I agree), but America is run/influenced by individuals who are sometimes motivated by self-serving interests rather than looking out for the good of the country. So, in some instances, America does not come off looking like the great nation it is/should be.
America has strayed from it's founders' ideas for a great nation, which was based on Christianity. We were great when Christianity was at the head of this country. Because believing in God and following his word does not allow certain behaviors (encouraged by the devil, himself), there are those who have chosen to "change" what is right to fit their wants and desires. Sin catches on easily...so, we are becoming a mess...and it shows to Americans and to other countries. (Of course, jealousy is a common thread too).
We still have a great country, but we are in need of some good, old fashioned values. We need to follow God's rules and get back into shape. It will take some doing, but those that believe need to stand up and say, "This is my America too, and we will follow God/Christianity!"

I agree with you though. People are actually jealous of us because we DO control the world (at least for the time being). And to be honest, we are a little fat and uneducated on average. Americans are very selfish and very greedy in general. I tend to be more of the "we should improve it types" though. Just like how we stereotype British people and their horrible teeth, we get the blunt of some stereotypes too. It's how the world goes.
Right now people like you and me need to pick up our books, hit the gym, start driving a car that's economically efficient, work hard, and start trying to understand cultures that are different than ours. After this we can make our country what it really could be instead of debating it on online forums. We are Americans, our actions speak louder than words. peace and God bless

Reply:Please be more specific. What do you mean by "so many people"? If you're talking about those in the Middle East, then you really ought to do a bit of research into your country's history of foreign policies between themselves and the Middle East. Then perhaps you would know why they take a dislike towards you. How sad that even a single American should wonder...

Reply:I don't hate America, I like it in fact. The US would be near perfect if:
a) People could spell correctly words such as "its" instead of "it's" and "there" instead of "their". Those are different words, get it? Don't be angry but the language should be preserved and not destroyed.
b) The Americans weren't so selfish that they're always worried about cutting down on taxes even if it's at the expense of the poor.
c) The Americans hadn't started the anti-cigarette crusade that spread to Europe and which is, to say the least, irrational.
d) There weren't all those so-called Christians whose major aim is to send everybody who disagrees with them to hell and interpret the Bible literally.
e) The Americans had learned by now (after all the killings) that gun control could indeed be a good thing.
f) There weren't those Americans who believe they are the center of the world.
Apart from those things, I love America and I wouldn't even dream of *hating* it. I don't hate anything and I don't hate anyone.
@ those who say everybody wants to move to the US: *that* is ignorant. I, for example, don't want to move to the US. I wouldn't mind living there for a while, sure. I love a vacation in the US, there's so much to see and do, sure. But if I had to move somewhere, I'd move to, say, France, or the south of Spain, or Greece. I'm not looking for the American Dream because we already have a lot of that here too and it's not as nice as one could think.

Reply:Nobody likes the top dog. It's human nature. Nobody liked the British when they were running things. Now that America is number one in the world, it's our turn to take the heat.
As you go back further in time, you will find that the Ancient Egyptians, the Ancient Athenians, the Romans and the Spanish and Austrian Hapsburgs were disliked by all of their neighbors too during their pinnacles of power.
