Why do people use Yahoo Answers like this?

I have seen several people say some of the WORST things on here!!! I just read where a grown woman told a little 11 year old girl that she is "fat and should stick her head in the oven and die"!!


How can people be so cruel???


If anyone out there wants to pick on someone they should at least not pick on a CHILD!!


I have decided that if I see bevahior on here that is nasty to people, i'm going to report them for abuse.


This world has enough problems without people wasting their time to pick on someone.


Furthermore, if any of you reading this are one of the creeps that likes to hurt people with your words. I feel sorry for your sad and insecure little lives.


I hope people can just use this site for what it was intended, being a helpful place to learn and have fun.


Does anyone agree?? Will others begin to pay attention to how badley some people are on here and make a change by reporting the abuse??

Why do people use Yahoo Answers like this?
People come on basically because they are either bored or have some free time to spend and dont have anything else interesting to do. Some of these same people are in a bad mood or just want to screw around with someone else so they can vent their frustrations of being losers. In order to make themselves feel a little bit better about themselves for a few minutes before they go back into their bored little world they type out a bunch of junk to try and make someone else feel bad about themselves. But you know something I think that they really dont want to do this deep inside. I think they just dont have enough going on in their lives. They dont have friends or family to share time with. I think alot of them are just plain lonely and this is their own way to communicate even if its to put other people down. What they arent seeing is that if they would just put as much effort into making something of their lives instead of sitting on a computer all day trying to make someone else feel bad they would end up being happy people and you wouldnt see them here. At least not trying to mess with other peoples minds. Everyone needs to report anything they see that is hurtful to anyone else. Anything racial or discriminating or vulgar because we dont really need that sort of thing do we? If I were you I would report everyone you see who comes off as a bully. Maybe they will just get tired of getting emails from yahoo about their behavoir and go somewhere else or hopefully get something going in their lives.
Reply:Yes. I am also tired of hearing sexual answers for descent questions. There are a lot of people who want actual answers for their problems. It is extremely disappointing when people answer them like that.
Reply:Well said!! I truly think that a lot of the cruel, inhumane remarks would never be said to another's face. They cowardly hide behind their screen names to lash out and provoke. I find that some sites are worse than others and do wonder the age of some of those users. When I read an intentionally antagonistic question I call them on it and alert them to the fact that they need to go take a nap! Okay, sometimes it may be a bit harsher than that but never cruel or unethical.





I also think that a lot of the abuse is reported, but there are thousands of users and even a small portion of abusers would amount to hundreds! So, I'm with you and hope it will end, but I have my doubts. Oh, and I do report abuse, too.

Unfortunately, in an open forum such as this, you're going to get weirdos, freaks, and anyone looking to get noticed. Some questions and answers are legit.... and some are just plain rediculous.





My suggestion is for you to do as you have said... report offensive replies. Don't know what good it's going to do... I ran into the same problems with the message boards a while back... I just quit going to them.
Reply:That isn't what bothers me at all. It is a little annoying, but you have to learn to ignore it. What SCARES me is that people ask questions that concern the health of their infants! If in doubt take them to the hospital or ask a doctor. Don't trust any random person on the internet with the life of your child!
Reply:There are a lot of mean rotten bastards in this world. They are just total jerks. Yahoo does monitor this site and remove many question and answers that have not been reported. So most of the nit-wits will get theirs.

Reply:I feel the same way. This is a site that can be fun and actually learn something. I have read some disgusting questions on here as well. I think that the ones on here that do that just want to get a reaction out of the people on here. The best thing to do if its really not appropriate then by all means report it. If its not that bad then ignore it. Its kind of like when you get a prank call and when you say hello no one is there. Well the caller on the other end is wanting a reaction and if you just hang up then its no fun to them. Just like on here if its obvious that someone ask a lousy question or leaves a lousy answer, ignore them. If they get no reaction, well you are taking away their fun.
Reply:Yes I agree but do not go overboard.I would never use such language on a child or even most adults.Remember that some of us are a little passionate concerning our beliefs and please do not resort to reporting someone just because you do not like their viewpoint.That is happening too often on here.You need to have a thick skin too.I have seen all kinds of profanity on here and yet I have been reported because someone does not like my answer and feels it insults them.They all need to grow up.I hope you are not one of them.
