Why do black people age so much more gracefully than white people???

I notice this ALL THE TIME. The majprity of black people age so much more gracefully than the majority of white people. And the crazy thing is, white people are always telling me how people say they look younger than they really are and I'm thinking to myself "No, you look OLDER than you really are."

I understand that the answer is simply a genetic thing. I guess my real question is if other people have also noticed that black people seem to age a lot more gracefully than white people.

Why do black people age so much more gracefully than white people???
Because they have natural built in pigment against sun damage. Plus, they dont go to the tanning bed!
Reply:Probably to do with their skin being less damaged in the sun - I agree with you totally, most black people age better.
Reply:Really, LMAO-----------STILL LMAO !!!!!!!!
Reply:Yes I have notice that too..
Reply:I have never noticed this... I HAVE notice some pretty bad looking old black people so I guess its just who you happen to come across.

I, on the other hand, am white and get asked if I am my son's girlfriend all the time so I living proof that it is not all white people who look like hell early on. I believe being young at heart has everything to do with it!!

: )

Happy spring
Reply:It's to do with the melanin in their skin...
Reply:Yes, I'm with you on that. Also, Asians. Maybe they don't abuse their bodies as much as us white people!
Reply:Black people tend to create more oil in their skin. It is genetic.
Reply:white people try unnaturally to get a darker skin color.tanning beds etc. ,which is wrinkling there skin and aging them quickly etc. black people are naturally dark skinned. i hope this makes some sense
Reply:You are absolutely right. I have noticed.
Reply:No, I don't agree with you at all...
Reply:There is more melanin in their skin which makes it less prone to sun damage, sun damage is the number one culprit of premature aging.
Reply:yes i've noticed this as well and also have wondered it myself.
Reply:There skin is not as easily damaged by the sun.

Interesting fact: My grandfather was Choctaw Indian and his hair never grayed. My mother, his daughter, is in her mid-fifties and doesn't have any gray hair.
Reply:How can you not know this- a black person's skin won't get wrinkled from the sun.
Reply:If this question was saying black people aged worse than white people you would be branded a racist, there would be an uproar. Hypocrisy and double standards etc.

I find your question a very sweeping statement - my mother is white, 56 and better looking then most 25 year olds.

And what is the point of this question anyway? Do you just want to feel superior to people or to offend ALOT of people?

What race is the most beautiful? What race has the best genes. As I said above, if it was a white person asking this question they would be branded a Nazi.

And you've insulted my mother. As for myself I look pretty damn good for my age.
Reply:i don't know, but I agree. Look at Barack Obama!
Reply:white people worry to much about everything
Reply:yes, most of them do, What about Asians, they age better than black people, God's way of making us all even one way or another... Some people are one way and others are another diffrent, but good the way we are.
Reply:Wow I never thought of it.

It is so rare to bump into older folks of color that I never had the chance to compare.

If only the darker skinned races didn't have such high mortality rates and die at such early ages maybe we could get a good ole fashioned eugenics debate going here.
Reply:something to do with Popeye's chicken.
Reply:why would you want to know that?
Reply:White people work and think much more than black people; white people are concerned with the running of the country than black people, white people would rather work than turn to crime (13% of America is Afro-American yet 55% of the crime is attributed to Afro-Americans); white people worry about their children; white people are worried about their future; white people are worried how well they will do in college (there are more black people in jail than college, and 50% of black students in college do not graduate). White Americans simply do more responsible things in life which are stressful.
