Do some people come here just to be rude to people?

I was wondering if anyone else finds people on here really rude sometimes? It's as if because it's anonymous people will say things that are really offensive or hurtful because they know there will be no repurcussions. Isn't it sad that given half a chance lots of people will say nasty things if they can get away with it? I've read quite a lot of answers on here where people are just rude, obnoxious, judgemental or inconsiderate; and I personally have had rude responses to harmless questions. For example I asked a light hearted question about what food people enjoy as a treat and was left comments about my waistline and how I must drink gallons of cooking oil. For one thing it was just ridiculous as I am a UK size 8 and eat fast food about twice a year, but secondly it was actually quite sad to think that people would attack others on here like that completely unprovoked. OK, rant over, hehe, sorry :-) xx

Reply:Yes they do some people however are genuine and are here to help others who need help and to offer their friendship and support I have met of people here and being on here I find that iam not so lonely as I was. So yes there are people whoare rude and who are nasty and whos intention is to hurt thankfully iam not one of nthose people iam a good girl and iam genuine.

Reply:Well done for posting such an apt comment. I think its really sad how some people have to resort to personal insults just to get some feeling of fulfillment in their lives. I have even seen some really racist and prejudiced postings and comments about other cultures, races and disabilities which makes me really disappointed as I thought the internet was all about expanding your horizons, learning from people different than yourself and accepting tolerance. But I guess thats why such people come on here to insult - they are too much of a coward to face people in real life, not to mention probably being terribly inarticulate and stupid.

Indeed. This is worst thing about the internet. And the few times you dress some jerk down for being a jerk here, you realize that that you are even doing that because "there are no reppercussions." The thing eventually reduces itself to an imploded net zero experience. It's like the sound of one hand clapping -- or five knuckles shuffling. Trolls aren't real people. They are the personality anonymous people project, as in the studies where monitors given total anonymity could send an electric shock to study subjects who did something wrong. This weird impulse took over and they basically fried the people all the time because they didn't like them, and they could get away with it. Same thing happens here with the trolls. They are being mean while hiding. I don't think they're even bad people. Just anonymous ones who are giving reign to their forbidden impulses here, to people whose humanity they can't fully see or sense or feel.

I go on rants at people telling them exactly how they should live their life. Its terrible, I have no right. However I find it very cathartic. I wouldn't want to do it to people in real life, as I'm not fond of confrontation. Most importantly though most people are blatantly asking for it. So many people that ask questions on here seriously need a good talking to, to be told exactly what kind of idiot they are. Not only that, but they asked!
Reply:One does not set out to be rude, but at times, most of the time in fact, we are surrounded here by utter thug racists, bone skulls, and falg waving and murder applauding Americans, and I tell you straight, it's hard not to be rude to this grouping, same family tree one suspects, who really do piss me off with their uneducated rantings picked up from some garbage newspaper or Uncle who was in one of their many lost wars.

Reply:I am afraid you are right. There are many weasels who do indeed take pleasure through irrational insults. There should be room for humour, but at times i think that many may cross this line, though not always through malice. You have every right to have a rant. Be happy.
Reply:Some people are like that but for every nasty one there are many more nice ones. I have had abusive emails, abusive content posted on here and downright lies told about me by afatninja and the way I dealt with it is I got a telephone number in London that you can call about web abuse and within seconds the smut from him had gone and he is being monitored for future web content so if it's serious stuff get in touch with yahoo personally as the abuse link is rubbish.

I agree... and we've all had them at some point to a question... or have seen them posted to others... and then some people even go mad when they get a thumbs down... but some of them really ask for it... It's not hard to just give a answer... and if you don't like someones question.. don't answer it: simple!
