Fat people- lazy unhealthy people. Fat AMERICA...?

Fat people may be an offensive term but when it comes to nutrition we obviously, as a society, don't have the attention of the people. People as a general population either A) Don't care about their nutrition B) Don't take the time to find out what SHOULD go into thier bodies or C) Are lazy and have no self control... or D) children who know only what there parents feed them, what do you think? Maybe a combination of all... If you stop to observe everyone around you next time you are out in public see how many chubby to fat people there are, if you haven't already. How many do YOU see? Why is it that these people won't do anything about it? Consumption of food isn't consumption of soda/pop, rockstars/redbulls, 20oz frapps everyday, prepackaged pastries, food ready to eat (though it's convenient, not healthy in most cases), MnM's etc, fast food "restaurants", corn nuts, chips, ice cream... please biggy size that! Biggy size my body %26amp; replace my muscle with fat cells. What do you think??

Fat people- lazy unhealthy people. Fat AMERICA...?
I am sorry but your question were kind of confusing to me so I will try to answer the best way I know how. I think as a society we do not care about the nutrtional value of food as long as it taste good. I am on the borderline between chubby and skinny. I mean could lose ten punds, yeah. I am trying to because I want to be healthy and live long. You also have to consider those people with thyroid problems and other chemical inbalances that cause them to gain weight even when they are trying to lose weight.
Reply:Good point. I've recently started a diet to help keep my heart healthy. I have growth hormone deficiency(late onset, not taking hormones because that would be futile at this point), and it can cause your natural cholesterol levels to be a bit higher than they should. Add diet to that, and it's not a healthy thing. I would also like to lose weight safely, and that takes time. GHD causes some chubbiness, but not a lot. All the more reason to keep an eye on my diet!

In a nutshell, it's important to take control of what you eat.
Reply:I think there are more factors involved than A, B, C, and D, although they do contribute to it (except for the lazy part). I tend not to count the overweight people around me. As an overweight person, I can tell you it's very difficult consciously exerting self-control and taking up healthier eating. However, I do think I am this way (I weight 430 pounds) because I made some bad eating decisions in life, and only I can fix it; I have no one to blame but myself. However, I am proof that some overweight people do care about nutrition. For a week and a half I have been eating a lot healthier. For the most part I have given up pop (except for maybe one drink on the weekends), I drink a lot more water and unsweetened tea, and for every meal I eat all healthy foods with the exception of one "unhealthy" item that I allow myself, like onion rings or something. It's not perfect, and I don't think I've lost any weight yet, but I feel better knowing that I'm doing at least something about my health, even if it's just a small step in the right direction. Nowadays I have a little bit more energy and a little more self-confidence. However, I don't say to myself that other overweight people should "do something" about their condition. Only they can make that decision, if they even want to. It's not for me to judge or decide.
Reply:Please return to school and learn to spell, and stop being so judgemental of others. You seriously need a hobby. I am a little overweight, but I am very active. I walk a few miles a day and swim laps. I have a 3.5 GPA,what is yours?I also have asthma, and the medicine I take makes it hard to lose weight. Why are you so angry about this? What do you care about how much people weigh? Wait!!! I forgot, you must be perfect.
Reply:It is not always about nutrition. Medical conditions and/or lack of exercise are often the main problem. Things are not as simple as you seem to think they are and you are too quick to judge.

I know many examples of people who are overweight for none of the reasons you listed and I used to be one of them.
Reply:I know I am about 30lbs over weight. I have always battled with my weight. My parents always taught me to be eat well. Never once did my mother serve something to our family that was unheathy. Never once did she fry anything. I am very athletic and enjoy my healthy life style but I still battle my weight everyday. My children are thin, my husband is thin and runs a 2:35 marathon.

Maybe your outllook on heavy people is wrong. I am far from lazy--work full time, exercise and take care of my family. I cook everynight--example last night we had roasted turkey, salad and fruit. I never buy any drinks with any calories and my children drink only skim milk and water.

So do you still look bad on me? Genetics weren't the friendliest to me but I know that I am healthy and my doctor would concure. Sure, daily I am dieting. I live on Weight Watchers--it is hard enough to constantly judge yourself then have a "fat hater" like you try to bring me down. You are ignorant and need to look into yourself before you judge others.
Reply:I'm not overweight or obese or nothing but you shouldn't assume that all them are lazy. Some obese people have other medical problems that cause them to gain excess weight. I think you should show a little bit more compassionate and less judgment.
Reply:If I was to say what's really on my mind about your question, I would ultimately end up with a violation. I find it offensive. What a shame!
