Well I was watch an episode of "montel" and there was this black women on there who was going to get her skin bleached because she was honestly ashamed of being black, she said things like black people represent ignorance, and stupidity, and the whole race is ugly.
I can understand how someone can feel this way because lots of times black people are portrayed as people who don't speak correctly, live in the ghetto and are thugs and arent educated.
But that women seemed ignorant it me for not being able to see past the media you know what i mean?
Whats your opinion on black people blaching their skin to fit in among whites?
And I'm not talking about people who get their skin bleached for medical reasons, I"m talking about people who get their skin bleached because THEY WOULD RATHER BE WHITE THAN BLACK.
People bleaching their skin?
I know what you mean.
I can't understand how someone could hate themselves and who they are so bad as to change the colour of their skin. I suppose no one can really understand why they feel they have to go through such drastic measures to feel "accepted".
Personally, I think it's wrong. But it kind of makes you think about all the other "stuff" that people change about themselves to not so much to "fit" in but to feel good about themselves, like; Changing the colour of your hair, Changing the colour of your eyes with contact lenses %26amp; whatever else you can change!
It's more a problem of how that individual feels about themself. You %26amp; I may accept Who %26amp; What we are but not everyone is going to feel that way, It's a given.
In every sense, Changing the colour of your skin is the most extreme act of self-hate. To literally want to be someone else is sad.
Reply:"Green Eyes" that's so true. some of your answers are a bit iffy with me at times, but you really hit the nail on this. thumbs up, girl.
Reply:It isin't just black people, it's a lot of different people with darker skin.
It's kind of like that when some white people tan. I don't however, and no one I know does. I like my fair skin. And EVERYONE should be proud of their skin color and heritage, no matter what other's think.
Black is beautiful, I don't know why some black women can't see it...
