Why are people attached to other people wearing a particular name brand?

When you think about it, it is really ridiculous. People want to hang out with people that wear Abercrombie and Fitch (a moose on a shirt or A%26amp;F on the ties of their cargos). The same goes for American Eagle. Some people will not hang out with people wearing Walmart clothes. Same goes for soccer. People admire other people wearing Adidas and Nike. No one ever wants to hang out with someone wearing Starter or some off brand. What is the deal with society? What would happen if someone took your precious name brand clothes away from you..... crumble? This is just something to provoke everyone's thoughts. Get people to think.

yeah it is kind of sad that people judge other people on how much money that they have or their sense of fashion but its just a way of life. dont go with the crowd be a leader

Reply:Not all people are like that. I like wearing those kinds of clothes because i like them, and they have nice quality, not becasue its a "trend"... I could care less how someone dressed as long as they are funny and nice to be around
Reply:If you want to just vent about how you think an attitude like that is stupid, then I guess my answer won't be very helfpul. But if you want a real answer, here's mine: first of all, more expensive clothes are generally of higher quality (up to a certain price range). Therefore, they ARE a worthwhile investment, because they last longer than say, polyester blends from store like Walmart. Second of all, the brands you're naming aren't even the top top top- things get way way waaaay more ridiculous. Lastly, remember this: people who are interested in fashion and brand names are not necessarily shallow. People who "will not hang out with people wearing Walmart clothes" are.
Reply:dude i know!!! its hecka weird. like i shop there and stuff but what really bugs me is when there are people that like only shop there!!! dude like go somewhere else everyonce in a while...and like when people think that like if you go to ae you look cool so therefore you are cool but in my opinion someone who can just go to walmart and get something and look good are the people who are COOL. and when you go to like ae you know that like every one is gonna be wearing the same thing you are cuz every one goes there. lol i think its funny how much im writing about this. i just had alot to say.
Reply:i resent that. i wear walmart clothes and have plenty of friends! i know several people that shop at walmart as well as people who don't who are my friends and i'm proud to say i'm a "walmart baby" :P
Reply:Personally, i stick with certain brands because i am familiar with the fit and feel of the clothing. brands aren't all that bad.

Reply:Well I am not like that. I am 24 and work at a branch of a high end shoe designer and I get complements everyday for wearing American Eagle and H%26amp;M. Both of those stores "Get" my sense of style; causal,cool, sophisticated. I once worked at Saks and this lady asked me where i got my jeans, i told her american eagle for 30 dollars, she laughed and said no seriously, and then i told her i wasnt kidding, she thought they were designer and thats what i want people to think about me. walmart clothes i have worn before but if you want to feel good i spend extra money on myself.
