Black People & White People?

How come many people come upset if white people unify with other whites and blacks unify with other blacks? Some many people find it racist that there is a black student union at our school. Anything involving blacks uniting makes people upset? It's black history month for some reason a lot of people in our class seem upset that we celebrate it. We celebrated hispanic heritage month. I don't get it. Furthermore, when a European Student Union was going to start, SO many people were pissed. We have a Hispanic Club, An Asian Club, and a Middle-Eastern/Indian club. No body seems pissed when we heard about them on the announcements. I don't get it. Our school is very diverse.

I believe most of the people that have a problem with this are white people and that is because if a white student group was to get together it would be considered racist. Not just by other faces but also by other white people because today a lot of white people feel they have to be uber politically correct or feel they have something to make up for the way they treated other races in the past. It would be better all around if a school had one of these programs if a club was provided for every race or no club at all.
Reply:I think people who think these groups are racist are stupid and dont realize they exist b/c groups and feel overwhelmed over the fact that everyone around them is white and sometimes need a place to just balance and feel like they dont stick out. As a white person myself i realize that we dont need these groups since its almost like college is a huge white person group, a requiremnt is western civ. so your forced to learn about white culture. I think black history month is a great thing to shead light on a often ignored subject.





When some idoit trys to say something, tell them to go to a college in africa and then they will know what it feels like to be a minority.
Reply:No one should be mad at a European club either that would be hypocritical. I feel any cultural club should be free to have a group, and anyone by law can join, the emphasis is just on that group.
Reply:People like to be with others that look, act and talk like themselves. This whole notion that "we should all get along and hang out together" is against nature. Why dont the lions hang out with the tigers? They both like to eat meat and hang out in the shade.


It is BS that whites cannot form a Euro group. So freakin what let them have their gay little group like the blacks, mexicans and asians.

Reply:I think that all of those clubs should be disbanded. They should exist only if they allow the membership of all races and actually do something constructive. There was a club at my high school which promoted math and science for minorities. I was okay with that, but the racial groups are useless really. All they do is promote racial isolation and superiority. We should all be together and not be more divided! (Also if there were a European union 3/4 of most student body's would fit the description. I like the idea of clubs based on country's or nationality rather than race. Ex: Japan club, Europe club, Africa club) I like a club that teaches and allows students to learn about other cultures and mix and mingle.) There was an Asian club, but sadly it was all Asians. I was too afraid to join. Clubs should promote diversity and learning and not separatism!

because white people in the past have hung black people alive over hundreds for looking at a white person,


black man in te pass watched there wives get raped and give birth to not there children,


and my great grandma watched her friend get hung when she was young for looking at a white person...tough huh?


but black people, organized together and fought for years and years to be treated equal and dont you see? even now where not treated equally, and about your friend thing i dont know why because i believe THAT WE ALL ARE HUMAN so i'll be your friend and alot of ignorent black people like to hold on to the pass(when the ywhere not even there) and not go on to the future so they dont want to be your friend ...


But not all just know that becuase i'll be your friend =D

Reply:Black History Month was made to commemorate a group of people who were severely oppressed by their country yet still made immense contributions for that country.Would you do anything good for a country that treated you like dirt just because you were black? The whites that made contributions during this time did it all under favorable conditions as they were American society's "priority" in those days. They had all the resources and tools to advance this country since the racial caste system prioritized them and gave them what they needed . The blacks didn't have much but still found ways to better this country through inventions and other things. This needs to be commemorated.
Reply:As for black history month, where is white history month? And white people at my school stick together because honeslty, we are hated. Black people, well some, would rather spit on us than be friends with us. I have heard many times a black girl at my school say "That's why I hate white people".
