Ok people..i have a friend who has hiv..my question is can you catch something from shaking a hand ?..maybe you have a small cut but they dont have NO cuts on them or nothing..i mean i get tired or people acting harsh torwards other people..
i see everybody as some sort of an angel..i would act as if they didnt have that disease or cancer or whatever..they are normal people but most people act afraid i mean now im paranoid because of how people act torwards things like that..
I mean in my neighborhood people shake hands and dapp all the time or they drink from each other or smoke with each other..am i suppose to treat or look at them any different ?..
but my question is 1. can mosquitoes transmit that disease or whatever...2. what if you shook that person hands and didnt wash them later on and ate food later that day or nighht can you catch something ?..3. like i dont get when they say blood exchange or sumthin dont the blood die when it touches air so how is that possible
Ok..People Can You Help Me Out On This 1!?!..10 Points To The Most Accurate %26amp; True!!?
All the things you have just described: you won't get HIV from them.
Your blood would have to get in touch with a considerable amount of their infected blood for you to get HIV.
You can still shake their hands or hug them. And don't worry about not washing your hands. Even if they had a cut and it was bleeding and it got on your hands and you don't wash them and two hours later you eat something; you will be fine!
Also: you can NOT get HIV/AIDS from their saliva or pee or poop! And mosquitos can NOT transmit HIV!
HIV is NOT a death sentence. AIDS unfortunately still is.
Reply:It's unlikely. However, the risk is not zero. Since the disease is a death sentence, evaluate if you want this person around at all.
I definitely would not allow him around if he caught AIDS while engaging in really bad behavior.....intravenous drug use, having sex in prison, etc.
Reply:If you have an open cut, and they have their blood insert the cut, it is possible to be HIV positive.
They don't have cooties, though.
You'll be fine as long as no blood or other types of bodily fluids enters you.
Reply:Whatever you do cut down on the anal sex, probably OK with oral. Gay cancer is serious business!
Reply:as long as u dont come in contact with thier blood, saliva, pee, poop.. ur ok...
they r ok to hug, shake hands etc.
as for mosquitos... ya prolly.
Reply:HIV is transmitted via an exchange of human fluids, most often (99%+) sexually. You would have to receive someone's blood, for example, in a transfusion to actually get HIV from someone. As far as mosquitos transmitting HIV, possible but highly, highly unlikely. In fact, i do not believe a single case of HIV has ever been documented as a result of a mosquito.
Shaking their hand would not transmit the disease unless you both had 'open' cuts on your hands/palms and then some of his/her blood got into your system.
It is also highly, highly unlikely (nearly impossible) that you would contract HIV from shaking your friend's hand that had dried blood on it then you ate a sandwich using the same hand.
If you are at all worried, though, go see your doctor and get tested.
